ADLIFE 5th Plenary Meeting, Israel, 15th & 16th November 2022
For the fifth time since the initiation of ADLIFE in January 2020, the ADLIFE Consortium united their eleven participating countries to review the project. Assuta Medical Centers hosted the team in Tel Aviv, Israel, providing the consortium with the opportunity to review their recent progress, and plan the next exciting steps for the launch of the ADLIFE pilot intervention phase.
On day one of the meeting, senior personnel from Assuta Medical Centers welcomed the consortium to Tel Aviv, including: head of Medical Innovation in Samson Assuta Ashdod Hospital, Dr. Gil Levy; the General Director of Samson Assuta Ashdod Hospital, Dr. Erez Birnboim; Director of KSM Maccabi Research and Innovation Center, Dr. Tal Patalon; and Director of Innovation in Assuta Medical Centers, Dr. Michal Guindy. In their opening remarks, each of these colleagues acknowledged the importance of ADLIFE and highlighted the transformative potential of digitised integrated care solutions for patients in this study and beyond: "ADLIFE is a flagship project for a young hospital with plans to grow. This innovative approach is the future of medicine".
As day one progressed, colleagues from each project work package reflected on their achievements and successes since the last plenary meeting held in Östersund, Sweden in June 2022.
On day two of the meeting, attention turned to the technological readiness of each of the clinical pilot sites to deploy the ADLIFE Toolbox in early 2023. In March 2023, we will be ready to commence the pilot study evaluations of the ADLIFE Toolbox across our seven pilot sites. It is exciting for all to know that patients, caregivers, and clinicians will soon be able to use the ADLIFE Toolbox for the first time as part of their care experiences.
In the two evenings the consortium stayed in Tel Aviv, we were fortunate enough to experience some of the cultural highlights of the country and area, with memorable walking tours of Old Jaffa and Jerusalem at the end of each meeting day. The evenings provided a welcome opportunity for the consortium to get to know each other over dinners organised by our hosts.
The consortium has much to be proud of in 2022 and we move into 2023 eager for the next significant stage in this large-scale research project.
