ADLIFE 4th Plenary Meeting, Östersund, Sweden, 8th and 9th June 2022

The 4th Plenary ADLIFE Consortium Meeting was held on 8th and 9th June 2022 – and for the first time since January 2020 – in person. Project partners Region Jämtland Härjedalen hosted the meeting at Hotell Östersund and ensured we were all very well looked after during our stay.

The opportunity for representatives from all project partners to come together again in the same room was welcomed and facilitated lively, fruitful and productive discussions across all aspects of the project over the two days.

During the two days of the meeting, Work Package Leads reported on the progress of their tasks and activities to date and identified key actions and activities to take forward for the remainder of 2022. These updates provided timely reminders of just how far we have come as a consortium during the first couple of years in our project and allowed us to recognise and celebrate the various project successes given the unforeseen challenging period we have all had to work and live through.

There were many detailed discussions about some of the finer intricacies of the project throughout the two days, but a clear highlight for all was the opportunity to see our developed technologies. Technical partners SRDC provided comprehensive demonstrations of our two ADLIFE platforms, the Patient Empowerment Platform (PEP) and the Personalised Care Plan Management Platform (PCPMP). It really was exciting to see these core elements of the ADLIFE Toolbox first-hand and realise we are stepping closer to deploying these in our clinical settings for our pilot study later in 2022 and into 2023.

Thanks to the sponsorship generosity of Region Jämtland Härjedalen, the Östersund Municipality, and Anders Wennerberg, CEO of the Municipality of Östersund, the Consortium experienced The Great Lake of Östersund aboard the wonderful MS Thomée for the conference dinner. Before embarking, MS Thomée owner and operator Per-Åke Wahlund greeted the group to talk about the boat and her history. This social event provided a welcome opportunity for the consortium to relax together and further build the personal relationships that are so crucial for the successful delivery of large-scale European research projects like ADLIFE.
