OptiMedis
Founded in 2003, OptiMedis is an innovative health management, analytics, and research company based in Hamburg, Germany. Focused on expanding social benefit, OptiMedis develops progressive models for patient-oriented, sustainable health which can be implemented on regional and national levels. OptiMedis collaborates with doctors, hospitals, health care professionals, health insurance companies, local authorities, and with digital assistance solutions companies. Further, OptiMedis networks with regional partners, negotiates contracts, establishes necessary structures such as intersectoral health and medical centres, oversees management, and implements digital solutions.
The goal of OptiMedis is to continuously improve the structures and processes in health care systems to improve the quality of care. The prerequisite for this is evaluating and adapting medical care. OptiMedis achieves this by analysing coverage data from both internal and external projects (GKV routine data and data from the doctors' information systems), and collecting PROMs and PREMs using a multidimensional data warehouse.
OptiMedis' most recognized holding company is the “Gesundes Kinzigtal” integrated care system in South Baden, Germany (www.gesundes-kinzigtal.de), which was launched in 2005. At the end of 2018, OptiMedis set up the “Gesunder Werra-Meißner Kreis” (www.gesunder-wmk.de) and at the end of 2020, the “Gesunder Schwalm-Eder Kreis+” (www.gesunder-sek.de), both located in Hesse. In the Billstedt and Horn districts in Hamburg, OptiMedis developed a patient-oriented, cross-sectoral care model utlising a "health kiosk." These were developed in collaboration with doctors and focus on supporting the socially disadvantaged who typically have difficulty navigating the health system and have poor health opportunities in comparison to those in wealthier districts (www.gesundheit-bh.de).
Complementary to professional management services, OptiMedis’ work is based on scientific evidence. Our team works closely with numerous universities and academic chairs nationwide and in European contexts. OptiMedis is represented by the Board of Directors, consisting of Dr. h. c. Helmut Hildebrandt (Chair) and Dr. Oliver Gröne.
In ADLIFE, OptiMedis leads the workpackage on Exploitation. The overall objective of this workpackage is to maximize the exploitation of the innovation findings (the process experiences, outputs and outcomes of implementing the ADLIFE toolbox) involving both non-commercial and commercial exploitation efforts. OptiMedis will also be involved in supporting the German pilot site, represented by the “Gesunder Werra-Meißner Kreis”, throughout the project.

About Gesunder Werra-Meißner-Kreis
Gesunder Werra-Meißner-Kreis (Healthy Werra-Meißner-Kreis) is one of the regional health networks managed by OptiMedis. It is located in the northern Hessian district of Werra-Meißner. In May 2018, OptiMedis and the regional health insurance BKK Werra-Meissner concluded a long-term, performance-related agreement with partial assumption of budget responsibility in accordance with § 140 a SGB V (German Social Code). Together with the administrative district, health care professionals, social institutions and the office for economic development, a regional integrator company, Gesunder Werra-Meißner-Kreis GmbH has set up a comprehensive health network since the end of 2018. It is based on the success of the “Gesundes Kinzigtal” integrated care project in the state of Baden-Württemberg, with the aim of improving health service provision and reducing inefficiencies in care.
