Veerle De Wispelaere 

Communications Consultant

 

Veerle is The European Institute for Innovation through Health Data’s (i~HD) in-house communications consultant. She has extensive experience in health communications having worked for a Belgian mutual health insurance fund and for a major Flemish hospital. Veerle is passionate about understanding peoples’ perspectives, challenging and connecting all stakeholders in the pursuit of a common goal and the creation of convincing win-win situations. Planning, coordinating and communicating have always been at the heart of her activities. As such, she is involved in a large variety of jobs to help co-ordinate the initiatives i~HD is developing to improve healthcare and accelerate research. She also plays a role in several EU-projects as member of the communications work groups.

As a co-leader of the dissemination and communications work package, Veerle collaborates with the University of Strathclyde leaders to develop a dissemination and communications plan. She will particularly focus on reaching out to the different target groups (e.g. general public, healthcare decision makers, clinical audiences) via appropriate communications strategies.
