Mert Baskaya
Senior Software Engineer
Mert received his BSc from the Computer Engineering Department of the Middle East Technical University and is currently preparing for his MSc thesis defense in the same department. His thesis work is about delivering personalized behavioural health interventions using a distributed stateful stream processing architecture. He has been in the SRDC team since 2015 and participated in EC supported projects such as Medolution and mHealth4Afrika. In Medolution, he took part in implementing a health data ingestion stack which is capable of handling big data using lambda architecture and a consumer application which collects data from patients medical and activity tracking devices and helps them achieve their periodic health and activity goals. In mHealth4Afrika, he developed an application for healthcare workers to use in low-resource environments to collect, store and synchronize patient’s medical device measurements using appropriate standards.
He has experience in medical device integration, health data standards, interoperability and big data architectures.
He will be involved in WP3, WP4 and WP5 activities.
