ADLIFE Q&A
Gökçe Banu Laleci Ertürkmen
R&D Director
What’s your background and your current role?
I am a computer engineer with over twenty years of experience in R&D projects within the eHealth domain. My primary focus lies in enabling interoperability in eHealth architectures, facilitating the secondary use of Electronic Health Records for clinical research and public health purposes, and implementing chronic disease management and integrated care solutions. Currently, I serve as the R&D Director at SRDC A.S. Within the ADLIFE project, I am leading WP4 - Patient Empowerment, which involves developing solutions for patients and informal caregivers to manage chronic conditions effectively.
Why did you want to be involved in the ADLIFE project?
My passion for automating care pathways based on evidence-based guidelines, which was the focus of my PhD studies, drew me to the ADLIFE project. Here, we are piloting an integrated care solution that embodies this vision across multiple pilot sites in Europe, making my involvement in the project particularly exciting.
What most excites you about working on ADLIFE and with the Consortium?
What excites me most about working on the ADLIFE project is the opportunity to collaborate with partners possessing interdisciplinary expertise. This collaboration allows us to approach problems from diverse perspectives, enriching the project's outcomes. Additionally, witnessing the results of pilot deployments in various regions with distinct requirements, constraints, and cultures is incredibly stimulating.
Finally, tell us something about you that people may not know.
In addition to my major degree in Computer Engineering, I hold a minor degree in Psychology, reflecting my longstanding interest in human psychology. Currently, I am further exploring this passion by studying the Psychology of Happiness through online courses.
