ADLIFE Q&A
Fritz Arndt
Project Coordinator
What’s your background and your current role?
My background is in industrial engineering and continuous improvement initiatives. I then read Michael Porters Book on value-based health care and pursuit a masters in health economics & health care management. In my thesis I discussed ambulatory care sensitive condition (ACSC) and the intervention potential of cross sectoral care networks in Germany taking into account current research on behavioural psychology.
Currently, I understand myself as a practical research health economist and have had the honour to guide and conduct several population health projects in the hessian Werra-Meißner county thus far.
My ADLIFE responsibility is the German pilot site coordination. This entails the translation of international meta ADLIFE requirements, assumptions and tools to the German health care context. In an ADLIFE preceding project, I was able to collect first-hand knowledge on the role of the coordinating nurse by acting in the role of a lung health guide. Moreover, I am responsible for developing the “ADLIFE ePA” we use as data base to feed CDSS, PEP, PCPMP.
Why did you want to be involved in the ADLIFE project?
I love to work in an international context. Moreover, I am now convinced that the digitally assisted shared goal and activity planning as well as visualization in the PEP lie are a pareto optimal change that should be introduced broadly into the German health communication context.
What your role in ADLIFE involve?
As project coordinator I had to develop a jack-of-all-trades approach. At the heart of my work is the translating of high-level concepts and tasks into the national/regional setting. This entails detailing goals and choice options for the top management. Additionally, I am responsible for the data management from the hardware to software development to first line support for future technical issues. Overall, I spent a lot of time writing documents for information and documentation purposes: like contracts, information sheets, presentations, guidelines, manuals etc.
What most excites you about working on ADLIFE and with the Consortium?
I see a welcome challenge in working in an international inter-institutional change management project that brings together a wide range of professionals. As one of the youngest professionals in the consortium I appreciate being rewarded in information, insight and experience. Additionally, it motivates me to learn from various new tasks and responsibilities (not mentioned in my original job description).
Finally, tell us something about you that people may not know.......?
I recently discovered that a regular 6h airsoft play day counts as functional and enjoyable full body workout.
