Borja García-Lorenzo

Health Economist

 

Borja García-Lorenzo holds a PhD in Economics from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and a MSc in Industrial Economics from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and he currently works as health economist at Biosistemak. Borja is a former health economist at Hospital Clinic Barcelona and the Spanish Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment and Services of the National Health System, and post-doctoral researcher at Université de Bordeaux and Institut de Reçerca en Avaluaciò i Polítiques Públiques. He has been visiting researcher at Toulouse School of Economics and Groupe d'Analyse de Théorie Économique in Lyon, and associate professor at Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Universidad Europea and ULPGC.

His main field of interest in health economics is the health policy and technology assessment. He has been involved in national and international public funded research projects aimed at providing scientific evidence to support decision-making in health funding decisions. Borja has disseminated his research in reports commissioned by the Spanish Ministry of Health as well as in Q1 impact factor journals in health economics.
