Itxaso Alayo

Itxaso Alayo holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) and a Master in Statistics and Operations Research from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Postgraduate degree in Data Science and Big Data from the University of Barcelona (2019), where she obtained knowledge of machine learning algorithms for prediction.

Regarding scientific production published in scientific journals, she has participated as author in 16 publications indexed in SCIE (11 original articles in Q1 and 5 in Q2) and has 622 citations.

Since October 2022 she has been part as a senior researcher at Biosistemak, Basque Country.  Within the Institute she is part of the following projects: ADLIFE: Integrated personalized care for patients with advanced chronic diseases to improve health and quality of life (Horizon 2020/ 875209), PACORUS-S: Patient-centered outcomes and resource utilization after non-cardiac surgery (ISCIII-FEDER ,PI21/01742), and VOICE: Value based healthcare for Outcomes In breast and lung Cancer Europe (Roche).

From 2016 to 2022 she worked in Health Services Research Group at IMIM-Hospital del Mar Institute for Medical Research, Barcelona. Her main function was to provide statistical support in the different projects of the group led by Dr. Jordi Alonso. She has been part of the project "UNIVERSAL: University and Mental Health. Predictive Models of Suicidal Ideation and Behavior in University Students" (ISCIII-FEDER PI13/00343, 2014-2018). He is currently collaborating in several active projects led by members of the group, including CODIRISC (ISCIII-FEDER, PI17/0120, 2018-2022), WEMWBS (ISCIII-FEDER, FIS PI19/00109, 2020-2022), MINDCOVID (ISCIII-FEDER/Ministry of Science and Innovation, COV20/0071, 2020-2021), and PROMHES-U (ISCIII-FEDER, FIS PI20/00006,2021-2023).
