Conclusion of an outstanding Hackathon

The ADLIFE Hackathon has concluded, and we are truly impressed by the outstanding submissions and the dedication of all participants!

On Friday and Saturday 17 and 18 November, 16 young professionals from both national and international backgrounds gathered in the Optimedis office in Hamburg to collaborate on enhancing the ADLIFE Project platform.

Reading and categorizing clinical guidelines

Our heartfelt congratulations go to the winning team, MediCat, which secured the 1st place and a prize of 1,000 Euros, sponsored by Tiplu GmbH. MediCat developed a tool over the weekend capable of reading and categorizing clinical guidelines. But they didn't stop there – they also submitted a complementary educational app for healthcare professionals. The jury, consisting of Oliver Groene, Timo Rodi, Bünyamin Sarıgül, and Angel Moro Delgado, was particularly impressed by the versatility of their solution, as well as the innovative use of machine learning.

Allocation of medical terminology

We extend our congratulations to Team Untitled, which secured the 2nd place in the Hackathon. Their focus in the same challenge was primarily on the precise allocation of medical terminology, employing a large language model. Their collaborative human/AI approach set them apart! Team Untitled was rewarded by the second sponsor of the hackathon , CHERRY Digital Health, with top-of-the-line Bluetooth keyboards.

A huge thank you goes out to all participants for their hard work and outstanding submissions. We are well aware that coding continued late into the night, and while there may have been moments of frustration, there were also many moments of euphoria when the code finally performed as intended. This Hackathon would not have been possible without all of you, and we're delighted that you chose to spend your weekend with us in Hamburg!

In the coming weeks and months, we will diligently work on integrating these results into the ADLIFE Project. The Hackathon has provided us with a significant boost of motivation, and together, we are advancing healthcare delivery!
